This place is unbelievable. It is one of the finest places we have ever stayed. The cabin is great and furnished way beyond our expectations. We had deer for dinner every evening. (ha) Thirteen made their self at home on Saturday. They are so beautiful and graceful. We got a ton of pictures of them. The view from the deck is stunning. We thank you very much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We will be back. Thanks again, Bob and Bonita Traywick, Diana, TX Ralph and Janie Byman, Gilmed, TX
You did it again! We love this cabin as much as Frannie’s Cabin in the Ozarks. Both cabins have a great location! We saw as many as fifteen deer at a time in the yard. Awesome! It snowed while we were here. It is beautiful, quiet, peaceful. We needed that! Once again, you have thought of everything. I could spend days in the library. Great selection of books and movies! Thanks again. We will be back (again). Stacey and Huey Flippin, AR
Thanks so much for everything. We really enjoyed staying in your cabin! It’s beautiful and wonderfully furnished. We enjoyed its comfort and peacefulness as well as the beauty of the surrounding nature. We both agreed that this was a perfect place for us to honeymoon and begin our married lives together. Thanks, and God bless you. Bill and Linda Owens
We had a marvelous time even if was for only one night. Thanks for making such an ideal spot in an ideal area of Arkansas. I loved the dishes (and I found your woven placemats and loved them, too.) I’m really into the visual aspect of enjoying vacations and your sense of décor is fabulous. I’m loved the herd of cows on the hillside scene with the breeze blowing and the daffodils blooming. Right now I’m slipping tea in the hammock and noticing the sun move gently across the hills. I also love your babbling water sounds and all the bird houses. I can’t believe how comfortable the bed is – great investment. Loved everything from the hot tub to the binoculars and bird watching book. You’ve done it all up right. Take care and God bless, Suzanne and Dave McCalman Conway, AR
We had such a wonderful and amazing honeymoon. The cabin is absolutely breathtaking and every little detail makes it that much more enjoyable. You are so sweet and we greatly appreciate and enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back! Thank you for making our honeymoon and first trip to Arkansas awesome. Casey and Jeff Moore Waco, TX
Thank you so much for providing us with such a beautiful place to stay in. I don’t think there’s one household item you have forgotten! It’s like being at home. Secondly, it has been a blessing to have walked in the spring beauty of the Ozarks and canoed the blue green waters of the Buffalo River. Every bend in the river and every twist and turn in the road gave us new spectacular views. We have also enjoyed meeting the locals, listening and sharing stories. Truly, everyone does have a story! Friendliness and warmth seem to be the hallmarks of Ozark folks. Again, thanks so much for a very special week. Deb and Jim Russell Widham, CT
Thank you for a wonderful stay in Jasper. The weather did not co-operate for floating or hiking, but who cares when we had such a nice place to sit and watch the storm, listen to the rain and fish pond, watch great movies and enjoying rocking on the deck! We love this home and appreciate all of the wonderful touches that make it so relaxing. We will be back for another stay. This was our third wedding anniversary and we hope to enjoy many, many more in Jasper. See you next time! Laura and Clif Hinze Little Rock, AR
What a lovely place to unwind and celebrate our 28th anniversary and Mother’s Day. The cabin is fantastic and the library was a real treat when we wanted to chill out. Thanks for the hike suggestion near here. We went to the bluff line overlook nearby, then dropped down and followed the Indian Creek Loop Trail. The way down was a breeze, the way up --- Whoa! It prepared us for the hot tub! There are so many special places to enjoy the surroundings: the deck chairs, the rock patio, koi pond, and inside looking out. Normally, we spend our cabin trips away from the cabin doing hikes, but this time we just enjoyed being here, grilling out, catching your two new movies, relaxing in the hot tub --- even tried out the claw foot tub and had the fireplace on briefly Saturday evening --- it was chilly for May. We truly enjoyed ourselves and all the special touches you brought to this place. We will be back later in the year, and look forward to it. Kathleen and Jim O’Dell Springfield, MO P.S. Oh yes -- we saw your deer, a wild turkey, rabbits and squirrels and lovely blue birds.
Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful retreat for our family. The cabin and all its amenities were wonderful. The children have so enjoyed lying in the hammock and watching the deer play in the yard. Thank you, too, for pointing out great places for us to visit and showing us how to get to the swimming holes (Roarke Bluffs is our favorite!) If at all possible, we WILL be back before the year is out! The Martin Family Oak Grove, LA
We had a wonderful time in the “Ozarks.” Your cabin is AWESOME! It totally exceeded all of our expectations! We went hiking at “Hawksbill Crag” and Lost Valley. Our kids loved crawling through the cave at the end. We were very lucky to see some elk before dusk in Boxley Valley. Our favorite part of the trip was the wildlife watching from our deck! We loved the deer and wild turkeys! The Reardon Family Chicago, IL
This is our fifth trip to NW, AR. Each time we have stayed somewhere new --- looking for the best spot, I suppose. I hope we can come back here often. The kids enjoyed the outdoor space -- room to move and play. Sheyl and I loved the well-appointed furnishings, and everyone liked the firepit and the deck. These were all excellent spaces to just hang out together. We hiked, caved, and canoed. We ate at the Ozark Café. We explored the bluff area just beyond the barbed wire fence. Thanks for the suggestions. And, we loved the wildlife. The “sunset symphony” that began every night, like clock-work, when the sun escaped over the mountains. This will be the soundtrack to the memories we play back in our minds. Best to you, Frannie and thanks for making us feel so comfortable here. How do you stay away? Kirk, Sheryl, Kyle, Kami, and Melissa Olson Sedgwick, KS
Thank you for opening up your cabin to others! Your website doesn’t do it justice and it was more wonderful than we imagined. This has been a week of peace and relaxation for us from all the “busyness” in our lies. We only left the cabin twice --- once to go to the store for a few supplies and then to pick up my daughter. We did go on a hike one day out in the field and found some bluffs -- very relaxing. We have enjoyed just sitting on the deck early mornings and evenings and enjoying all the deer that have come into the yard. This just wasn’t’ a “rental cabin” to us. You made it feel like our home! We can’t wait to come back with the rest of the family after Christmas! Gary and Jackie Duncan, and Betsy Licking, MO
Just as with our first visit last year, our long weekend at Frannie’s isn’t nearly long enough! The rain has finally cleared away and now it’s time for us to go, just when the weather’s perfect for exploring. The thunderstorms did, however, give us a spectacular show flashing across the valleys and the rain made for some excellent snuggling and relaxing under the porch. The wildlife didn’t seem to mind the rain, either -- the menagerie included two handsome gobblers, soaring eagles, fox squirrels, the resident deer, and a special treat --- a large pack of feral hogs. The real thing entertained us while we listened to the Hogs’ first game on the radio. It appeared to be three adults and 8-10 piglets at the cattle feeders. Their daily presence made us think twice about wandering down to the bluffs. We sure don’t want to cross a mamma hog! We did drive down to Kyles’ Landing for a stunning view of the river bluffs, and on the way out, we’re headed through Ponca and Boxley Valley to catch our favorite sights in the area. We also made our must do stop at the Ozark Café for fried cheesecake on Frannie’s orders. YUM!! It’s so cool that they’re celebrating 100 years this month! Thank so very much, Frannie, for another amazingly rejuvenating stay! We’re already checking our calendars for when we can return. It just feels like our home away from home already. Jon and Terri Davidson and Haggis Bryant, AR
Our time at Frannie’s on the Buffalo Has speeded by and we must go, But ere we go may we just say We’d like to come another day.
The clues you gave were right on the mark, And we loved exploring from dawn to dark. We hiked, we climbed, and we sat right here To watch each day “our” family of deer.
Among them one morning to our delight A flock of turkeys ambled into sight. The following day we again had luck As keeping his distance was a beautiful buck.
And the foggy and gloomy days outside, Made this “home” just the place to abide. For reading and writing and just relaxing ---enjoying each other with nothing taxing.
Your place is an Arkansas Ozark treasure And provided a week of extreme pleasure. So as we prepare to go our way With, pen in hand we wish to say… Thank you, Frannie! Michael and Patsy Weddells Prairie City, Iowa
Thanks so much for providing such an awesome place for the perfect getaway. We planned this trip as a birthday gift for our mother and it couldn’t have gone any better! The fall leaves and blue skies are breathtaking! And the cabin is like a dream home! Our time here was relaxing and fun. Some of our favorite things were Triple Falls, elk watching, Lost Valley, and the hot tub. The little deer seem right at home here. We took so many pictures! No one is ready to leave, but we look forward to visiting again. We definitely plan to come back. Thanks again for everything, Ms Frannie! You really do think of everything to make this place perfect. The Hannum Family Crossett, AR
What a wonderful place. We all agreed it is definitely one of the nicest, if not THE nicest place we’ve stayed. We had wonderful warm (almost too warm) weather for hiking all our adventures. We started with Sweden Creek Falls, then did the BRT from Steele Creek to Kyles Landing (Beautiful!) and finished with the Goat Bluff Trail. We had planned to do Indian Creek, but the BRT section was pretty strenuous, so we opted for the milder hike. In the evenings, we relaxed in the hot tub, played our wii, and watched football. Our OSU cowboys beat Texas Tech! We ate well and had a terrific time. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality. We’ll definitely be back! Wayne and Teresa Boyer, Robert an Gail Fritsche John Meeks
Our family had a wonderful time exploring Jasper, Ponca, the Lost Valley area and saw the majestic elk and even several swans too! Thank you so much for your suggested itinerary and the gracious time you spent making suggestions and providing resources. We have been fortunate enough to do much traveling, but rarely have been treated with that degree of thoughtfulness and planning by our host. Thank you for this. And the cabin … Everything is so well thought out and beautifully put together all your details are not only aestically pleasing but truly help the home become one with the physical beauty of the surrounding area. We will miss it all very much and look forward to returning soon. Karen, Mark, Shelby, Thomas, and Trevor Frazier Oklahoma City
